H.A. Ferdinand is the author of the romantic comedy Mrs Tempest’s Marriage Bureau but writes other books under other names.

“My stories aim to cart you off for a while from reality. That’s all I want to do. They’re not going to change the world, but they might create a pleasant diversion for a minute,” she says.

“There’s no struggle involved. They are just meant to be fun.”

The beauty of the independent publishing revolution is that mavericks like her can write what they want, when they want and exactly the way they want to.
